Upcoming events

BOMA of Florida has two major events each year: its annual Day at the Capitol in Tallahassee and an Annual Meeting in the fall.  BOMA of Florida’s Day at the Capitol is held during a legislative committee meetings week or during the legislative session. BOMA members from around the state visit with legislators and key aides to advocate for the commercial real estate industry’s core issues. The Annual Meeting provides BOMA members an opportunity to join together to for networking and educational sessions, legislative initiatives for the following year are also established. All BOMA members are encouraged to participate.

    The BOMA Georgia Foundation was selected by the BOMA Southern Region to host the Regional Conference on March 28-30, 2019 in Savannah, GA. The annual Southern Region Conference  attracts nearly 300 annual attendees from across the region seeking top-notch education and networking opportunities and participation in regional TOBY and awards competition.

    • Senate Chamber at the Florida Historic Capitol Museum -- 400 South Monroe Street, Tallahassee, Florida 32399

    Each year during legislative session, commercial real estate owners and managers travel to Tallahassee to spend a day at the Capitol to discuss BOMA’s stance on issues important to our industry. Having a strong showing from our members at the Capitol sends the message that BOMA is a robust association with the backing of a talented and involved membership. The tentative agenda is as follows


    10:30 AM to 12:00 PM – Speaker presentations; meeting location Historic Capitol Museum’s Senate Chamber. Note: Prompt gathering at 10:30 AM is required, as we will be welcoming elected officials as speakers and presenting the Legislator of the Year Award.

    12:00 PM to as needed – Each contingency of locals to meet with Senators, Representatives, and Aides from their districts. Note: Each local should schedule visits with their elected officials prior to the Advocacy Day Event; it is best to coordinate schedules after January 1st and again the week prior to our event.

    Visit Preparation 

    We will be hosting a preparation meeting via conference call for all participants on March 18th, 2:30 pm EST (call-in information below)If needed, the BOMA Florida Government Affairs Committee will host a subsequent preparation meeting at a mutually convenient time for those attending Advocacy Day.
