Meet BOMA Florida Lobbyist: Alison B. Dudley

Alison B. Dudley is President of A. B. Dudley & Associates, a boutique Tallahassee-based lobbying firm she founded in 2001. Known for her personalized, hands-on approach, Alison provides focused advocacy and strategic guidance in an environment often dominated by large firms—earning the long-term trust of clients, many of whom have worked with her for more than 20 years.

Alison’s career spans both public and private sectors, including service as a legislative aide in the Florida House of Representatives, roles in the Governor’s Legislative Affairs Office, and as Legislative Liaison for the Florida Lottery. She later worked in government, media, and community relations for Texaco before opening and managing a Tallahassee office for a major lobbying firm representing more than 38 clients.

A native Floridian, Alison brings deep institutional knowledge, strong legislative relationships, and a results-driven approach to BOMA Florida’s advocacy efforts in Tallahassee.

Meet BOMA Florida Lobbyist: Sharon J. Merchant

Sharon J. Merchant brings more than 40 years of leadership in government, business, and public affairs to BOMA Florida. She is President of The Merchant Strategy and a former Member of the Florida House of Representatives.

During her legislative career, Sharon served in key leadership roles, including Chair of the Appropriations Committee on Transportation and Economic Development and Chair of the Palm Beach County Legislative Delegation. Her work has earned numerous statewide awards recognizing her leadership, economic development impact, and legislative excellence.

In the private sector, Sharon has successfully led government and community relations efforts for clients across Florida, guiding complex projects through local, state, and federal processes. Her strategic insight, relationship-building skills, and deep understanding of public policy make her a valuable advocate for BOMA Florida members.
